Our collections of jointed facings can be installed over ETI.

What is ETI and what are its advantages?

External thermal insulation (ETI) improves your home’s energy efficiency by reducing heat loss. It protects walls, reduces thermal bridges and improves interior comfort. What’s more, it enhances the value of your property and contributes to significant energy savings.

The possibilities

Which ETI materials can be used?

Characteristics of polystyrene foam ETI installation

  • Cladding with a maximum mass per unit area of 40 kg/m².
  • Maximuminstallation height of 12 m
  • Maximum altitude 900 m
  • ETI fixed to traditional supports (concrete, masonry, etc.) excluding timber-frame construction(1)

The bonded installation process for ORSOL jointed facings on expanded polystyrene ITE is registered with the CSTB under number ATEx 2941_v1, with ZOLPAN as the applicant. Access the document here.

For other ORSOL facings bonded to EPS, a prior technical study is required to obtain a specification specific to the site in question.

Characteristics of glue-down installation on rock wool

  • Cladding with a maximum mass per unit area of 40 kg/m².
  • Maximum installation height of 3 m
  • Maximum altitude 900 m
  • ETI fixed to traditional supports (concrete, masonry, etc.) excluding timber-frame construction(1)

Bonded installation of ORSOL facings on wood fiber ETI is currently under development.

How is it laid?

The first stages of installation are identical to those for a plaster finish. The number of fixing plugs is determined according to the same calculation rules.

Installation steps :

1. Gluing and wedging of insulation panels.

2. Application of the reinforced base coat: application of a first coat of base plaster with the reinforcement hammered in.

3. Reinforcement of mechanical fastening by additional dowelling through the reinforced base layer, followed by application of a second coat of base plaster.

5. Once the plaster has dried, the facings can be double-glued.

  • 1. Concrete / masonry wall
    • 2. Bonding/sealing compound
      • 3. Insulating panel
        • 4. Mechanical dowel
          • 5. Reinforced base coat
            • 5.1 Coating
            • 5.2 Fiberglass reinforcement
            • 5.3 Mechanical anchor
            • 5.4 Coating
              • 6. Adhesive mortar
                • 7. Facing stones + joint mortar

Reducing your carbon footprint with ORSOL: commitments and innovations

In a world where sustainability has become an unavoidable priority, companies in the construction and architecture sector play a crucial role in the fight to reduce carbon footprints. ORSOL, renowned for the quality andaesthetics of its architectural elements, stands out for its deep commitment to sustainability. At the heart of this commitment is NEOMINERAL, an innovative, low-carbon material that perfectly illustrates ORSOL’s ability to combine aesthetics, innovation and environmental responsibility.

Innovation for sustainability: NEOMINERAL

NEOMINERAL is the cornerstone of ORSOL’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint. This material, composed exclusively of high-quality mineral aggregates, is the result of a judicious combination of a very old technique – pozzolanic reaction– and recent technologies. ORSOL has thus succeeded in producing a material that is both technical and low-carbon, offering the aesthetic qualities and strength of stone, while drastically reducing CO2 emissions.

Significant progress in reducing carbon footprint

  • Reduced CO2 emissions: NEOMINERAL has emissions up to 3 times lower than terracotta and 20 times lower than imported stone over a distance of more than 500km, marking a significant step towards a local low-carbon industry.
  • Eco-responsible manufacturing process: NEOMINERAL’s cold manufacturing process, based on the pozzolanic reaction, considerably reduces the material’s carbon footprint .
  • Commitment to Recycling: ORSOL guarantees that 100% of the waste and water used in the manufacture of NEOMINERAL is recycled, and 100% of the waste generated when the product is destroyed is recyclable.
  • Support for local suppliers: With 92% of its suppliers based in France and an average supply distance of 300 km for its raw materials, ORSOL favors short circuits and local sourcing.

ORSOL’s commitment to sustainability

ORSOL doesn’t just develop sustainable products; the company is actively committed to respecting the environment at every stage of production. By investing every year in research to improve the quality and aesthetics of its products, ORSOL makes reducing its carbon footprint an absolute priority.

A wide choice of eco-friendly products

ORSOL offers a vast choice of facing stones, with subtle nuances, textures and reliefs, in traditional or avant-garde looks, all easy to install and compatible with most substrates. These products, faithful to the aesthetic characteristics of natural stone, are also a guarantee of high performance and safety, meeting the strict requirements of the construction industry.
