Pierrette and Youval’s school of happiness

Non classifié(e) 14 Mar 2025

Located in the heart of Solacaro, a small village of 400 inhabitants just a few kilometers as the crow flies from the sea, Mr. and Mrs. Capelle have created Corsica’s first pottery school at the heart of the town’s Centre Culturel et Social des Arts de la Terre.

The facility is designed to harmonize with the rural environment, integrating wood and stone, and offering a warm energy that appeals to visitors. Construction of the center was completed in 2023. Mr. and Mrs. Capelle discovered ORSOL cladding and were immediately seduced by the aesthetics and quality of the products.

“The installer, a local craftsman, was a great pleasure to work with. High-quality products!

The couple wanted cladding that was as close as possible to the look of the traditional “casetta”, a small isolated dwelling in rural Corsica made of assembled dry stone. Together, they naturally turned to the shaded beige Tertus Collection, which was closest to the light ochre telluric background of Corsican earth.

The Tertus collection is completely rural and traditional. With wood, it’s wonderful and timeless.

All visitors think the Center has been there for decades…

PROMEGE, a Paris-based real estate developer, is recognized for its excellence in terms of the quality of its residences and the services it provides, and boasts unrivalled assets in the building and real estate sector.

The different shades of color emphasize the building’s geometry.

The ” 29 Renan ” residence in Malakoff, department 92, a 17-home project, incorporates more than 1,000 m2 of ORSOL-exclusive brick cladding.

Rafik Soualhi, Promège’s Technical Director, gives us some details of the project and the collaboration with ORSOL.

As the building’s facade is the main focus of the project, it was imperative to match the aesthetic and style desired by the town council. The idea was to design a building with an undeniable heritage character, while at the same time nodding to the neighboring buildings in the area, where briquette is widely used.

The choice was therefore made for a warm-colored, textured brick facade. The shade of the facing brick is lighter on the recessed facades, marking the volumetry of the project. The Old School collection in sepia and graphite tones was mixed during installation.

This material is also used on the low fences, bringing a homogeneous treatment to the building.

White ORSOL brick also covers a large part of the building, adding a touch of freshness and color contrast, especially with the combination of materials with the golden zinc that covers the upper part of the building.

The ORSOL brick matched the aesthetic perfectly, and was the best value for money, with an unbeatable delivery time.

Rafik Soualhi had the opportunity to discover the ORSOL brand and products at a trade show. After a long and painstaking search for the rare pearl, it was finally ORSOL bricks that met all the requirements.

Today, he has no hesitation in recommending ORSOL products to his counterparts and architects, as he has no doubts about the quality of the product and service. In fact, Promège is integrating other ORSOL collections into new real estate projects currently under construction.

Cladding stone, an ecological solution for renovating your home

Would you like to use an eco-friendly material to renovate your home? Discover cladding stone, a solution for reducing the carbon footprint of your wall or floor cladding, without compromising on aesthetics and efficiency!

What is reconstituted stone?

Reconstituted stone is a floor or wall covering, for interior or exterior use, made from mineral aggregates. These aggregates are bonded with a binder and molded into the desired size and format, to reproduce the appearance of natural stone.
Reconstituted stone is lighter and less expensive than natural stone. It’s perfect for smaller budgets looking to renovate or embellish! What’s more, it’s a durable stone, resistant to wear and impact, as well as to temperature variations.
Thanks to a sophisticated manufacturing process, it’s possible to obtain subtle shades and shapes adapted to a precise geographical area, or to reproduce an old facing in the case of a home extension.

What are the advantages of reconstituted stone?

A stone that adapts to your environment

Reconstituted stone manufacturing techniques have now been perfected toimitate natural stone. If your home already has natural stone cladding, you can integrate reconstituted stone without the risk of altering the façade of your home (or your interior).
Stone cladding can also be adapted to the architectural style of the house or its location. It can imitate marble, porcelain stoneware, natural stone and other mineral materials.
With proper maintenance, stone cladding is durable and resistant. It is less likely to crack or discolor than natural stone. Of course, it is advisable to choose a quality manufacturer to guarantee durability and a natural appearance.

Reduced environmental impact

Reconstituted stone is often presented as an environmentally-friendly material for home cladding or flooring. Indeed, compared to natural stone, its carbon impact is reduced. The processes involved in extracting natural stone and transporting it entail CO2 emissions of varying degrees, whereas it’s possible to do without them by opting for reconstituted stone!
Manufactured in our own workshops, all you need to deliver your new cladding or paving is the transport to your home, while enjoying an aesthetic very similar to that of natural stone. It’s a sustainable, environmentally-friendly solution that meets the latest building standards and the challenges of the energy transition.
Do you have a more comprehensive energy renovation project in mind? There are a number of things you can do to improve your home’s energy performance. Hello Watt can help you make the right choices for your house and home!

A simplified worksite

Being lighter and thinner than natural stone, reconstituted stone is easier to install. And it’s quicker too! It’s easier to lay indoors or outdoors, and you’re less limited in terms of substrates.
Not to mention that the price of reconstituted stone flooring or wall cladding is lower! You can also take advantage of this opportunity to carry out other renovation work, such as insulating walls, floors or attics. Find out more about the price of attic or wall insulation to reduce heat loss, and carry out several jobs at the same time!

Why choose ORSOL Neomineral stone to renovate your home?

  • Reduced carbon impact: Compared to natural stone, reconstituted stone limits emissions linked to transport and extraction processes, contributing to a more sustainable project.
  • Lightweight and durable: easy to handle and extremely robust, it guarantees a long service life when properly maintained.
  • Ideal for facades: ORSOL’s Neomineral cladding is perfect for finishing your facade, especially after exterior wall insulation.

Redefining space with brick: Interview with Stéphanie Cattenoz, QuiCé&Co interior designer

Stéphanie CATTENOZ decided to take the plunge 3 years ago and set up her own interior design agency, Quicé & Co. The owners of this Paris duplex gave her carte blanche to “create a distinctive atmosphere”.

Stéphanie explains: “From a decoration point of view, the apartment was quite neutral at the outset.

The owners wanted to give each space a strong identity.

She adds: “We had already worked with 5-tone brick cladding from ORSOL on a previous project. It’s a cladding that I really like, as it offers some lovely nuances. Ochre, terracotta, sometimes red, pink and anthracite… both feminine and masculine! It’s a harmonious brick cladding collection that’s easy to embellish.

Black and red touches were also added to the furniture, from the red TV cabinet to the sofa’s topstitching. “A little detail that finishes off the lounge area really well, and is reminiscent of that pretty ORSOL cladding,” adds Stéphanie with a smile.

The oak and aluminum shelves on one wall of the living room echo the custom-made claustra installed in the dining area. On these two walls, LED track lighting highlights the brickwork and illuminates the ceiling.

The owners adopted this loft spirit, and the 5-tone BRIQUE collection, from the very first proposals. It has to be said that the apartment is very well lit, and its double height allowed for a play of perspective.

And when we ask Stéphanie what her next projects are, she confesses full of enthusiasm:

Another site is underway, and this 5-tone brick has also found its place there…!

Stéphanie also told us:

“ORSOL offers a wide range of claddings to suit any style, from country house to brickwork, or more contemporary projects… Customer service is pleasant and gave me very good advice. “

At Nathalie and Eric’s : Pure lines facing the sea

At Nathalie and Eric’s: Pure lines facing the sea

Nathalie and her family hail from Brittany, near Brest. Having always been sailors, it was on their boat, during a trip to the Balearic Islands and Greece, that she imagined their home, and the materials, including stone, that would make it up.

In 2015, she called on architect Jean-Luc HÉRY to design this large 330 m² house. The specifications were clear:

We needed a minimum of four bedrooms, large living areas, and not forgetting… a sea view!

Recommended by Mr Justino COSTA (COSTA MACONNERIE), who did all the structural work, we chose the Rocky Mountain collection from ORSOL collection that Nathalie selected.

Mr COSTA and Mr HÉRY had nothing but praise for ORSOL products, and the Rocky Mountain cladding matched our project perfectly.

It’s clearly a success; thanks to the large bay windows, you can see the stone cladding in all the rooms, and it’s very beautiful!

In addition to the geometric look, Nathalie wanted to add rhythm and warmth by opting for a mix of materials: rendering, wood and ORSOL facing stone.

The cladding is also enhanced at night by floor lights, to bring out its texture and relief during long evenings on the terrace.

Laëtitia and Mathieu are self-employed engineers, and live with their 2 children in Haute-Savoie in the commune of Yvoire, near Lake Geneva. In 2018, they bought the plot to build their dream home. After an initial renovation of an existing chalet for rental purposes, and validation of the plans drawn up by Mathieu, the house was ready to go into the ground at the end of 2022.

We wanted a house with a “chalet” feel, but with a modern touch, using noble materials such as stone and wood, which represent the region well.

The large steel bay windows and high ceilings follow the same line, giving the living area a spacious feel.

Laëtitia and Mathieu wanted to combine red cedar with light-colored stone, rather than the gray stone found in the region. They opted for Manoir ORSOL cladding in a stone tone, with beige jointing to bring out the relief.

Laëtitia and Mathieu worked with friends to lay almost 200m² of stone facing, inside on the fireplace wall and on the various facades of the house.

In a second phase, they designed the pool house as a convivial place to share with friends.

It was the barbecue that defined the volumes. We made several 3D models to ensure that everything fitted together perfectly.

Sauna, cosy area, bar… Laëtitia and Mathieu have created a relaxation area in keeping with the house style, much appreciated by all.

Mathieu adds, “We sized the house as opportunities arose, especially the ORSOL stone cladding, which perfectly matched what we were looking for.”

Laëtitia concludes: “We wanted a beautiful house, but in the end… it even exceeded our expectations.”
